After a financial scam destroys the reputation of young lawyer Maia Rindell (Rose Leslie) and wipes out Diane's savings, the pair are forced out of their jobs. Now unable to take her planned retirement, Diane joins a rival company headed up by Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo) and takes Maia along with her.
